Bringing together the best minds under one roof

A little history…

Division 864 covers Alberta North CN Branch Line running north out of Edmonton, Alberta up to Hay River, North West Territories. This line has changed hands several times over the years, originally it was run by the “NAR/Northern Alberta Railroad” that was jointly owned by CN and CP from 1929-1981. On January 01, 1981 CN bought out CP’s share in the railway and the line was ran exclusively by CN Rail. On May 03, 1998 the line was sold to “Railink” who operated for a few years before selling to Rail America. During this period of time the line became known as “Mackenzie Northern” up until January 19, 2006 when CN once again repurchased the property. Today the line is known as the “Former MKNR” and has members based out home terminals in Edmonton, McLennan, Roma Junction and High Level.
